Can Students Submit Homework After the Due Date?

Yes — as long as the assignment is still Live. When you assign a worksheet you can set a Closes At date. Once that date passes, the assignment becomes Closed and magic links no longer accept submissions. If no Closes At date is set, the assignment stays Live indefinitely.

How the Closes At date controls late submissions:

Go to Worksheets and click the Assign button — The "Assign to Class" dialog opens.

Set a Closes At date and time (optional) — This is the deadline. After this date and time, students cannot submit — their magic link becomes inactive.

Leave Closes At empty to allow indefinite submissions — The assignment stays Live until you close it manually from the Homework page.

Click "Assign & Share" — The assignment goes live with the deadline you configured.

How overdue assignments appear in your dashboard:

The assignment card shows the due date in coral — for example: "Overdue · Jan 15"
The status changes to Closed (gray badge) automatically when the Closes At date passes
The magic link stops accepting submissions once the assignment is Closed
