Are Magic Links Secure?
Yes. Each magic link is unique to one specific student and one specific homework pack. Links cannot be guessed, and unauthorized access is not possible.
Security guarantees:
- Cannot be guessed — each link contains a unique, randomly-generated token that cannot be predicted
- Student-scoped — Student A's link can only submit homework as Student A; it cannot affect any other student's record
- No personal data in the URL — the address bar shows only a token, not a student's name, email, class, or school
- Read-only after submission — once submitted, the link cannot be used to change or resubmit answers
Common security questions answered:
What if a student shares their link with a friend?
The friend can open the link, but any submission from it will be recorded under the original student's name. The submission still counts — the tutor can see it was submitted.
Can someone access the homework without the link?
No. The token in the link is the only way to access that homework. Without the exact link, the homework cannot be found or opened.
Can a student see another student's answers?
No. Each link shows only that student's own homework. There is no way to navigate to another student's submission through the link.
The only way to access a student's homework is by having their specific magic link. Keep links private — share only with the intended student or their parent.
