Student Privacy & Data Security
Student data in Knowbotic Academy is visible only to the tutors in your academy. No student accounts exist, no data is shared externally, and no third party can access your student records. Here is exactly how it works:
Only your academy's tutors can see student data
Student names, homework results, and class assignments are visible exclusively to tutors logged in to your academy. Students themselves do not have logins and cannot browse the dashboard. They only see the specific homework page they access via their individual magic link.
Each academy's data is fully isolated
Your student records cannot be seen by any other academy on the platform. There is no way for another tutor at a different academy to access your students, even if they are using the same Knowbotic plan.
Contact details are used only to send homework
If you store a parent's phone number or email on a student profile, that contact detail is used solely to send magic links when you assign homework. It is never used for marketing and is never shared with third parties.
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit
All student data is stored in an encrypted database. Connections to Knowbotic Academy use HTTPS/TLS, meaning data is also encrypted while it travels between your browser and our servers.
Minimum data collection
Knowbotic only stores what is needed to run your academy: student name, optional contact details, class enrollment, and homework results. No additional personal data is collected or retained.
Deleting a student: If you need to remove a student and all their data, go to Students, open the student's profile, and click "Delete Student". This permanently removes their profile, class assignments, and homework history from Knowbotic.
