Can I Create Worksheets Without Assigning Them?
Short answer: Yes
Creating a worksheet and assigning it to students are two separate actions. You can generate, edit, and save a worksheet to your library today, and assign it to a class next week — or never assign it at all.
Here is the full workflow — assignment is always the last optional step:
- 1
Create the worksheet
Go to Worksheets and click "Generate Worksheet". Enter a title and topic, choose difficulty, number of questions, and question types. Click "Generate Worksheet".
- 2
Review and edit the questions
Read through all generated questions. Edit any that need corrections. Delete any that are not suitable.
- 3
Click "Save Worksheet"
Click Save at the bottom of the page. The worksheet is immediately added to your worksheet library. No assignment is created yet.
- 4
Leave the library — come back whenever
You can close the page, switch to another task, or log out. The worksheet stays in your library permanently and is ready when you need it.
- 5
Assign the worksheet when you are ready
Open the worksheet from your library and click the coral "Assign" button. In the "Assign to Class" dialog, select a class and optionally set a time limit, opens at, and closes at date. Click "Assign & Share" to confirm. Only at this step do students receive magic links to access the worksheet.
Tip: build your library during prep time
Many tutors batch-create several worksheets at the start of the week and assign them one by one as lessons progress. Credits are spent when you click Generate Worksheet, not when you assign — so you can build up your library and assign at your own pace. See the Worksheet Library guide for how to browse and manage saved worksheets.
